Growing with our community.

At Century Bank & Trust, we believe that growth can be measured in the quality of life shared by friends and neighbors. While many people think that banking is only about money, we know that our investment of time and talents in a host of civic, charitable, educational, and economic development endeavors is making a difference in our area. Below are some of our recent activities.

Century Supports Local Education with Donation to Georgia GOAL Scholarship Program for John Milledge Academy

3/6/25 – Century Bank and Trust continues its commitment to investing in the future by donating $5,329 to the Georgia GOAL Scholarship Program, with the funds designated to benefit students at John Milledge Academy. This contribution underscores the bank’s dedication to empowering local families with expanded educational opportunities.

Through the Georgia GOAL Scholarship Program, individuals and businesses can direct their state tax dollars to provide tuition assistance for students seeking a quality education at participating private schools. By supporting John Milledge Academy through this initiative, Century Bank and Trust helps ensure that more students have access to the academic excellence and character-building programs the school offers.

“Education is the foundation of a thriving community, and we are proud to support John Milledge Academy through the Georgia GOAL Scholarship Program,” said Derek Williams, President and CEO at Century Bank and Trust. “This initiative aligns perfectly with our mission to strengthen and invest in the communities we serve.”

John Milledge Academy has been a cornerstone of academic achievement in Milledgeville, offering students a rigorous curriculum, strong extracurricular programs, and a supportive learning environment. With the help of contributions like this, the school can continue to provide opportunities to students who may not otherwise have access to a private education.

The Georgia GOAL Scholarship Program allows taxpayers to redirect a portion of their state income tax liability to support scholarships for eligible students at accredited private schools. Since its inception, the program has made a significant impact on families across the state by expanding educational choice and accessibility.

Century Bank and Trust remains dedicated to fostering growth and success in Milledgeville and beyond by investing in education, economic development, and community well-being.

Read Across America Day 2025

3/3/25 - Some of our community bankers had the opportunity to read to students at Lakeview Primary School for Read Across America Day!  Spending time with students and sharing stories was a great reminder of how important reading is in the shaping of young minds.

Thank you to the wonderful students and staff at Lakeview Primary for welcoming us and Communities in Schools of Milledgeville/Baldwin County, Inc. for organizing the event - we had a blast!

St. Stephen's Day School Visits our Downtown Milledgeville Location

2/29/25 - We had the joy of recently welcoming the bright young students from St. Stephen's Episcopal Church Day School! Each student brought in 100 pennies to run through our coin counting machine and exchanged them for a crisp $1 bill.
The best part? Hearing their excitement as they shared what they plan to do with their new dollars—some saving, some spending, all full of big dreams!
Moments like these remind us why community banking is so special. Thanks for visiting, St. Stephen’s!

In the aftermath of the Hurricane Helena, our hearts were full of gratitude for the brave first responders and hardworking linemen who worked around the clock to keep our community safe and restore power.
To show our appreciation, our team had the privilege of delivering snacks to those on the front lines. It's a small token of thanks for your dedication and selflessness.
